The Strathmore Royal Canadian Air Cadets shared their thoughts as to what Remembrance Day means to them.

Captain Jonathan Peters, who has been an officer in the Cadets for ten years, shared what Remembrance Day means to him and the Cadets.

Captain Peters stated that Remembrance Day is “a day to remember those veterans who have passed while in service or since service and also to recognize that there is still a number of men and women out there serving today”

When asked what the Cadets do for Remembrance Day Captain Peters stated “The main way we participate is the cadets generally escort people who are going up to lay wreaths” they will then “Salute the cenotaph to acknowledge the veterans”

Remembrance Day marks the day World War One ended, at 11a.m. on the eleventh day of the eleventh month, in 1918. A two-minute silence is help at 11a.m. to remember the people who have died in wars.
