Canada's Agriculture Minister, Marie-Claude Bibeau, has wrapped up her meetings in Japan with her G20 counterparts.

Bibeau was able to talk directly with the Chinese Ag Minister, saying the canola trade issue must be resolved quickly.

"I also stressed that Canada is becoming increasingly troubled by the lack of evidence provided to us, regarding the pests of concern. I raised with Minister Han our request for a technical delegation from Canada. Only once provided with evidence, will we be able to rectify the situation."

Bibeau says she believes the Chinese Ag Minister will relay her request to send a delegation to China.

The Canadian Government requested a delegation led by the CFIA be sent to China over a month ago, which China has still not accepted.

She was also in Tokyo on Monday meeting with key importers following the G20 meetings.
