CGC is gearing up to make a $5000 donation to the Wheatland County Food Bank as a part of the company’s ‘Give Local’ program.

Vice President of Manufacturing, Steve Forcier, explained that they developed the 'Give Local' program 6 years ago.

"We have over 40 facilities throughout Canada and the United States and wanted to develop a charitable initiative, where each facility has the opportunity to donate to the charity of their choice."

The Wheatland County Foodbank is an important charity for CGC to donate to this year.

"Rising food insecurity and food bank usage across Southern Alberta have made the Wheatland County Food Bank’s services more crucial than ever and the perfect recipient for this year’s Give Local donation in Wheatland County," said Forcier.

CGC donated $5000 last year to True North formally the Wheatland Crisis Society.

Plans are currently underway to build a $210 million state-of-the-art wallboard manufacturing plant in Wheatland County, with construction scheduled to begin in 2024 and is expected to create more than 300 local jobs.
