When the 104.5 More Country crew left Strathmore on Thursday to bring lunch to the crew of Wildiron farms the sun was shining!

Once they made the turn onto Highway 561 the dark clouds were looming, and the 1-mile stretch at their drop location was in the middle of a downpour.

With lunch in the Jeep, they did a quick drop to the crew and headed out in a hurry!   The crew did say they were still grateful to have lunch and we pretty happy to not have been stuck on the field when that heavy rain hit yesterday.

Katie Wheatley said they are just getting going this season, "We have had a slow start with some new equipment and rain, but we are hopeful for the nice weather ahead."

This farm is all about family Katie explained, " Jon and Cam have taken over the farm from their dad and it has been in their family since 1915."

Like farms in the area, they too have made it past the 100-year mark, Katie did share that it is a busy farm that is centered around family, "We are solely grain farmers so winters are kept busy hauling grain and working on equipment and of course our kids are busy with sports so lots of time at arenas."

The delivery to Wildiron was sponsored by DMN Energy with lunch provided by Mike's Bar & Grill.

There are still a couple of deliveries to go this spring nominate a farm today at strathmorenow.com.
