The Holy Cross Collegiate Basketball Team had a great season that saw them advance to the provincials playoffs in High Level, Alberta last week.   The team did fairly well, winning their first game against Calgary Christian 62-60.  The next day they played the top-ranked school, Emanuel Christian from Lethbridge, and came up short by 12 points.  Holy Cross then beat Willow Creek before a match up against the second-highest ranked team,  Our Lady of Mt. Pleasent from Camrose.

The defense of Holy Cross Collegiate was the strength of the team, carrying them above their rank of 8th to achieve 6th place.  One of the big lessons from this tournament was the experience the grade ten players gained while playing provincial-level games. The stand-out grade twelve players included leading scorer for the year, Alex Nwoye as well as Ralph Valencia, Tanner Hollingsworth, and Delray Yellow Old Woman.

Head coach, Joshua Jalbert, said," It was fantastic and I had a great time teaching this fun group of guys."
