Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued multiple weather warnings for Wheatland County near Strathmore, Lyalta, as well as Carseland.

Apart from a rainfall warning, a wind warning is also in effect for the area.

"Strong winds from the north with gusts to 90 kilometres/hour are expected to develop on Tuesday morning. The strong winds will slowly weaken in the late afternoon to early evening hours."

Damage to buildings, such as roof shingles and windows, may occur. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. Utility outages may occur. Motorists, especially in high-profile vehicles, may expect hazardous driving conditions on highways subject to strong cross winds.

A rainfall warning continues to be in effect for the area, with heavy rain expected tonight and Tuesday.

"Rain will begin this evening and continue through Tuesday night. Widespread rainfall totals of 50 to 70 millimetres are likely. Locally higher amounts up to 100 millimetres are possible."

Rain will taper off on Wednesday. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.

The weather alerts are also in effect for Brooks and Vulcan.
