Drumheller RCMP received a complaint on June 6 of two suspicious men on a quad on Township Road 302 west of Michichi, Alberta.

A news release said it was reported that the men appeared to be in possession of copper wire and other equipment.

Drumheller RCMP went to the scene and tried to stop the quad but the men fled through ditches and fields.

The men were eventually found on the outskirts of Michichi and taken into custody.

The quad was located by an abandoned railway line nearby.

RCMP says upon further investigation, one of the men was bound by multiple orders including a Conditional Sentence Order, Probation Orders, a Release Order, and an Undertaking. 

The second suspect was bound by an Undertaking.

42-year old Jesse Bulechowsky of Starland and 33-year-old Douglas Mcclure were charged with:

  • Failing to stop for a Peace Officer while being pursued.

Bulechowsky was also charged with:

  • Three counts of failing to comply with probation.
  • Dangerous operation of a conveyance; and
  • Operating conveyance while prohibited.

Mclure was also charged with:

  • Failure to comply with an undertaking.

Both Bulechowsky and Mcclure were taken before a Justice of the Peace for a Judicial interim Release Hearing and:

  • Bulechowsky was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice on June 10th in Didsbury to answer to the charges.
  • Mcclure was released from custody on a Release Order and is scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice on July 12th in Drumheller to answer to the charges.
