Rockyford is going to be rumbling with the sounds of hooves and music again this year as they get ready to host another great rodeo event. Last year’s, Rockyford Rodeo was cancelled due to the pandemic, and Lions Member, Darcy Burke, explained that they are really ramping things up for this year.

“It is great news, and the Lions Club here in Rockyford is very excited to be bringing rodeo back. We are even more excited to announce that we will be having a pro rodeo this year.”

New for this year is that there will be professional stock and cowboys on the grounds.

“We're going to see a different quality of stock. The cost of planning the rodeo is going to increase for the club, but at the same time, we're going to see a different calibre of cowboys performing in the arena. It provides a better show for our spectators coming to enjoy Rockyford Rodeo.”

Included in the announcement was that another fan favourite will be returning, "Bullarama coming back at the end of June again this year, it's an excellent family show with the fireworks and the bull riding.”

Burke continued to say that last year was the most successful event yet with over 2,000 spectators that evening.

Camping at these events is going fast and Burke suggests booking early.

“Both those events this summer are busy. Our service sites do fill up very quickly and we are encouraging folks that may be wanting a service site in our campground to phone the village office at 403-533-3950."

The Rockyford Rodeo will be on July 22-24, 2022 and Bullarama will be on June 30, 2022.
