Strathmore and the area are currently under a severe thunderstorm watch.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), conditions are favourable for developing severe thunderstorms that may produce strong wind gusts this evening.

"Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees, and overturn large vehicles," stated the ECCC website.

ECCC recommends preparing for severe weather. Take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.

"Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!"

Strathmore is sitting at 27 degrees with a 30 per cent chance of showers and tonight we will drop low to 11 degrees with a chance of showers.
