Two stores in Brooks were targeted by thieves in the late evening hours last weekend. In the first incident on November 10, Brooks RCMP say at approximately 8:56 p.m., there was a 911 call of a robbery that had just occurred at a store located at the 300 block of Cassils Road West in Brooks.

Brooks RCMP attended the scene with the assistance of the RCMP Police Dog Services and determined that a lone male suspect wearing a grey hood and mask allegedly entered the convenience store with his hands in his pockets. There was one employee in the store at the time of the robbery. The man demanded money from the employee before fleeing the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

The Brooks RCMP made extensive patrols; however, the suspect was not located.

The suspect in the first robbery is described as male, standing about 5’ 8” – 5’10” tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a dark coloured sweater, light grey winter jacket with a grey balaclava hood.

Later on November 11 at about 9:18 p.m. police were called to a robbery that occurred in the 100 block, of 2nd Street West in Brooks.

RCMP determined that a lone male suspect wearing a white facemask with two small eye holes allegedly entered the store carrying a black reusable bag. There was a lone employee in the store at the time of the robbery. The man told the employee he had a weapon in his bag and demanded money before fleeing the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. It is believed that he got into a nearby vehicle.

The Brooks RCMP made extensive patrols; however, the suspect was not located.

The suspect is described as male, about 6’ tall with a large build. He was last seen wearing a black and white striped sweater, gloves, a black hat and white facemask with two eyeholes in it.

Brooks RCMP’s investigation into this incident is ongoing with the assistance of the Brooks RCMP General Investigation Section.

No one was physically injured during either incident.
