Over the weekend, United Conservative Party Leader Jason Kenney said if elected they'll repeal Bill 6.
The farm safety legislation enacted in 2016 under the NDP government would end with the UCP's new Farm Freedom Act if the party takes power in the upcoming provincial election.
On Monday, February 18, Alberta Agriculture and Forestry Minister Oneil Carlier posted on Twitter saying enhancing the safety of farm workers was the right thing to do.
He says producers and stakeholders worked with the government to strike the right balance.
Kenney says the party also plans to repeal the carbon tax if elected.
