The weather that Strathmore has seen this winter has been anything but steady.
After the cold snap last week, Strathmore will start to see a gradual warmup with the temperature peaking around midnight before climbing to Tuesday’s (Jan 23) daytime high of 2 degrees, which will be warmer than Monday's (Jan 22) at -8.
For the rest of the week, warmer conditions are expected to stay, and daytime highs are expected to remain above freezing until the end of the week.
As of Jan. 22, Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) data showed that there is still a 30 percent chance of snow expected for the rest of the day and into the evening.
Even with the recent and fresh snow, according to 511 Alberta roads in Strathmore and surrounding area are looking to be bare and dry. There is some icy patches and some packed snow on some roadways.
It is recommended to still drive with caution and drive to the condition of the roads.
