The Town of Strathmore wants to remind all pet owners to renew their furry friend's licenses by February 29.

“Licenses give us the information we need to return your pets safely,” The Town said in a Facebook post.

The annual fees are:

  • Spayed or neutered dogs: $30/year
  • Intact dogs: $55/year
  • Spayed or neutered cats: $20.00 + $5.00 society fee/year
  • Intact cats: $25.00 + $10.00 society fee/year
  • Exotic Animal: $25.00/year
  • Urban Beekeeping: $30.00/year
  • Dangerous Animal License: $250.00
  • Review of Dangerous Animal Declaration Fee: $150.00 + costs
  • Application Fee: Beekeeping: $50.00 (1 time)
  • Application Fee: Exotic Pet: $100.00 (1 time)

Licensing your pet also helps benefit the entire animal community. The fees are used to provide bag dispensers in the off-leash dog park and along pathways.

It also helps to promote responsible pet ownership by funding education and enforcement.

To license your pet today, call the Town of Strathmore at (403) 934-3133 or visit the Strathmore Municipal Building.
