Wheatland County's Manager of Emergency and Fire Services Mike Bourgon provided additional details on the Highway 24 fire over the weekend.
On Saturday, May 13, Wheatland County, the Strathmore Fire Department, and Rocky View County Fire Department all responded to a structure fire on a property east of Highway 24. The structure fire impacted the shop and several small outbuildings.
Bourgon added no people were injured and the animals on the property are all safe. Since the investigation is still ongoing he could not provide additional details at this time.
Even though the fire was in Wheatland County, Rocky View County still responded to the call because Wheatland and Rocky View have a mutual aid agreement and help each other out with emergencies when able.
