There were smiling faces, lots of fun and a visit with Calgary Stampede royalty among other things to do during a celebration of the western way of life, Western Day, at Westmount Elementary School in Strathmore.

The students were treated to a bunch of traditional western activities, as well as a pancake breakfast courtesy the Calgary Stampede.

There were horses, the Calgary Stampede Queen Carly Heath, Princess Courtney Dingreville, and Princess Keily Stewart. Then each kid got to dress up western with a good old fashioned cowboy hat and boots.
