With Matthew Tkachuk and Johnny Gaudreau's departure, many questions were left unanswered for Flames fans. Most of those questions have now been answered.

After re-signing Johnathan Huberdeau to a large contract, the Flames signed the most prominent name still left on the free agent board; signing Nazem Kadri to a seven-year deal worth seven million dollars a year.

The Flames traded Sean Monahan to the Montreal Canadiens to make cap space for Kadri.

Kadri collected a career-high 87 points, 28 goals and 59 assists in 71 games this past season, adding another 15 points in 16 playoff games.
