The Massey family of JM New Trend Cattle Co. would show the Agribition world that Strathmore has some of the best livestock around by winning the Grand Champion Simmental Female at the Canadian Western Agribition (CWA) with their entry New Trend Class Act 3E with calf JM New Trend Style Matters 7G. JM New Trend Cattle Co. would also walk away with the Junior Champion Female and the Two Year Old Champion Female titles.

The CWA was located in Regina, Saskatchewan this year and is described as the best beef show on the continent and the largest livestock show in Canada. The show is mostly about the beef cattle but also features horses, bison, sheep, goats, and an extensive agribusiness trade show. The CWA blends together agriculture, Indigenous culture, and festive entertainment, featuring live music, shopping, and food. It also hosts evening pro rodeo performances for action packed entertainment. The CWA hosts over 1,250 international guests from over 86 countries.

Alberta was well represented at the CWA with entries from, Carstairs, Killam, Streamstown, Wimborne, Parkland County, Smoky Lake, Lloydminster, Arrowwood, Derwent, Wainwright, Olds, St. Paul, and a few others from Strathmore.
