RCMP are warning residents in Strathmore and Chestermere of several break and enters and vehicle thefts in the two communities.

According to RCMP, it's believed that the crimes are being committed by three people.

Investigations have determined that the victims' vehicles were unlawfully entered, and their garage door openers and vehicle registration information were taken.

Later on, these victims were targeted for residential break-ins. In some incidents, the vehicles were singled out while the victims were camping, and when they returned home, they noticed that their residence had been broken into.

There are several ways you can protect yourself from these types of crimes:

  • Secure your vehicle, even when camping or in remote locations
  • Consider not keeping garage door openers and documents with your home address in your vehicle
  • Ensure all thefts from cars are reported to the police

If you've seen the suspects, give Strathmore RCMP a call at 403-934-3968.
