The Town of Strathmore and Wheatland County are joining forces for a Community Information Session tonight.

The two regions are working together to create an Intermunicipal Development Plan which will help with growth and development and address land use planning issues and opportunities.

The Municipal Government Act requires municipalities that share a common boundary to have an IDP and currently the town and county do not have one in place.

You can have your say tonight from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Strathmore Civic Centre's East Hall.

Once community engagement is collected from residents the town and county will look to adopt the IDP by fall of this year.

A public hearing to discuss the IDP will be announced once the meeting dates are set up.

According to the town, landowners, businesses, and members of the community will be provided the opportunity to review the draft IDP, ask questions to the team, and provide feedback for the final plan.
