On Saturday, Gleichen RCMP received a call that a man sustained a serious injury to his arm from a gun shot.

According to RCMP this happened in the Map 8 area of Siksika First Nation.

Police were able to find the victim and get him medical attention. RCMP told residents to shelter in place while officers were in the area.

Following that police were able to quickly locate 43-year-old Tim Munro who surrendered to officers.

He was charged with the following:

  • Attempted murder.
  • Pointing a firearm.
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm.
  • Possessing a prohibited firearm.
  • Failing to comply with conditions.

Munro was brought into custody after a Judicial Release Hearing and will be appearing in Alberta Court of Justice via CCTV on June 20.
