Many groups and organizations are starting to work their way back to some sort of normalcy in Strathmore as Alberta continues the relaunch of the province.

The Strathmore AG Society has been a staple in the community for many years. This year they had to cancel the Strathmore Stampede, an event that normally takes place over the August long weekend.
Although the team at the AG society was disappointed this has not dampened their spirits and Ryan Schmidt GM for the AG Society is looking forward to some of the facilities reopening for residents to use, "We're opening back up again just like everybody else for the activities that we can do, there are groups that are smaller in numbers who can do their different activities or events safely and those are starting back up again."

This includes the baseball diamonds that have reopened and are ready if there is a season this year for the teams in town, as well Schmidt has noted some building and infield rentals are starting to come in.

Along with hosting events throughout the year the AG Society also runs the campground, which was able to continue to operate under the COVID 19 guidelines and due to some additional people working in town has been busier, " We've actually had better attendance at the campground than we expected which is good there are some work projects nearby with some monthly rentals for workers on those projects and that's really been a key source for revenue for us."

With this year seeing many events for the AG Society being postponed Schmidt wants to assure the residents of Strathmore and Wheatland County that the team is working already on bringing great events to the area in the coming months when it is safe to do. As well they are already making plans for next year's 2021 Strathmore Stampede.
