If you're looking for something fun to do this weekend the Carseland Lions Club will be hosting their annual Show and Shine at Aggie Days.

Classic cars and hot rods will be on display during the event.

According to Ken Beasley with the Lions Club, last year's event went quite well.

"Most of them were all classics, oldies and stuff. We had a few rat rods; we had some big trucks. I own a big truck myself, turned it into a pickup truck."

There were 83 cars that came out for last year's program.

Beasley says the event is so popular people came in from all over southern Alberta to check out the rides.

"Calgary, I think I heard some people from Chestermere and Strathmore, Okotoks. We had lots of good feedback, so we're hoping for the same this year."

Beasley expressed the importance of the event in building community, "I think it brings a lot of people into Carseland and helps with our Aggie Days."

The parade for Aggie Days starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday and that's when cars can arrive to register for the Show and Shine.
