National Indigenous Peoples Day to be hosted in Strathmore

National Indigenous Peoples Day will be hosted by the Town of Strathmore on June 21.

The event will be located at the Ampitheatre in Kinsmen Park from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Festivities will honour the heritage and cultures of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples in the town.

A few of the activities include:

• Indigenous market
• Powwow demonstrations
• Métis performances
• Hand games
• Speeches
• Raising of Treaty 7 flag along with honour song

Indigenous vendors will also be set up at the Farmers Market during the same time.
