The holidays are just around the corner and for those who may need to take care of a few things here is what to expect for holiday hours for Municipal and Ag offices.

The Town office, along with FCSS, will be closed from December 26 until January 2. Both facilities will have regular hours until December 23 and they resume on January 3. Danielle Jensen with the Town of Strathmore noted an important deadline for residents due to the holidays.

"November utility bill payments need to be in by December 23, residents can come into the building, or pay over the phone with a credit card."

After hours emergency numbers for Epcor, Atco, police, fire and ambulance can be found here on strathmore.ca.

Waste Management will be open for its regular hours except for Christmas Eve when they will only be open until 1:00 pm. The hours can be found on strathmore.ca. Regular waste collection will take place over the holidays as Christmas Day and New Years Day fall on the weekend, so waste cart pickup schedules won't be impacted.

The Strathmore Municipal Library will be closed from December 23 and reopening on January 3. Even though the library will be closed, Assistant Director of Library Services Carmen Erison explained that services are still accessible.

"Definitely come in before the 23 to pick up your books, pick up any of your items. The book drop is open during the library closure as well, so people can return their books throughout the holiday season as well. While our doors might be closed, the library is always open 24/7 online. We have so many great online resources that people are able to use with their library card and that's the time that we encourage people to check out some of those resources."

The Ag office will closed from December 22 to January 2, but for any last minute ticket purchases for either Brett Kissel or the Strathmore Stampede that you may want to pick up for a Christmas treat they can be purchased at strathmorestampede.com.

The Recreation facility hours of operation are listed below but Jensen did note you should check ahead, as specifics have not been set yet.

"These are the operational hours, we recommend that people check the drop-in schedules before visiting so they can find the correct time for the activity they’re wanting to do. You can find the links to our facility schedules at Strathmore.ca/Recreation."
