Nerf Wars is back! That is, for local kids. The popular nerf gun game found on social media apps like TikTok will be taking over the Strathmore Motor Products Sports Centre on Youth Night, this Friday.
Marcie Brinton, Sports Centre Manager explained that the program is very popular and that they’ve had great turnout.
“We are running this activity as part of our Youth Night program. Youth Nights occur the first Friday of each month. We offer a different drop-in activity for youth ages 7-12 years old each Youth Night – this month just happens to be Nerf Wars, which is our most popular activity!”
This time Nerf Wars takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Magnum Cementing Services gym. Brinton says, “Players will need to bring their own nerf guns, their own eye protection or safety goggles, as well as their own nerf darts. We’re asking players to please label their nerf darts, so we can make sure everyone gets theirs back at the end of the night.”
Unfortunately, at this point there isn’t a chance for adults to get in on the Nerf Wars battle, the program is just for kids. The last time Nerf Wars was run at the Strathmore Motor Products Sports Centre organizers had 45 kids attend, “which made for a great battle,” said Brinton.
